Rationale:

We support students’ growth and development through successive stages of independence. We enable each young person to experience success through their own efforts and on their own merits and we put them in direct contact with the realities of life as a citizen of the world.

Our curriculum can be imagined as a conical helix, spiralling outwards as the children grow and explore interests and learn at greater and greater depths.

We follow the cycle of the seasons each year and through real experiences help the children make connections with the world around them.

Our youngest children begin their journey near the centre and with each successive year move outwards on the spiral, revisiting key concepts and experiences and consolidating learning at their own pace. As they grow, the familiarity of lessons, ideas and explorations touched upon in previous years provides the perfect foundation for confident deeper study.
